This past week the USPS delivered two pieces of personal mail to my mailbox … snail mail! My dear sweet friend sent me a card with a note in it and my dear sweet niece sent me an actual letter… written by hand! I was so excited to open my mailbox and find these treasures!
I have been thinking about how down-sized communication has become. We have gone from hand-written letters, to emails, to texts, to “thumbs up” on FB! Kids are communicating with abbreviations. Ikr… I know, right? We’ve compacted feelings, thoughts, and comments into letters and symbols. The ironic part is that we understand what people are saying. It’s easy, it’s fast, and it does not involve much emotion.
I have two letters to write this week… and possibly more. I’m hoping I brighten someone’s day as mine was! And you never know when it might be the right words at the right time…
